"Claire deals out folk pop that just oozes sophistication in its delivery and exposition" -Come Here Floyd
“Claire is a breath of fresh air in the music world"
-Independent Artist Buzz
Artist Statement:
From the first drum fill off the top, “Leave Me Alone” immediately starts the toes tapping, as a smooth lead vocal paired with a layered crunch of electric and slide guitar drive the arrangement. Organ interlaced with a tight acoustic guitar track, backing vocals, and an intricate pulse of bass and tambourine drive the song into an exciting bridge solo section galvanized by Joey Landreth on slide guitar.
I think we could all use some more uptempo, badass goodbye songs, would you agree? This song is the ultimate goodbye song. A “finding the strength to walk away” song from a person who only contaminates your life with unhappiness. The narrator finally sees things clearly, for what and for who they are. Along with this message, the song is also funny and light hearted, as you'll see in the music video! It can't all be dark, can it?" -Claire Coupland

LEAVE ME ALONE | LYRICS
I’ve been really busy working overtime
You call me on my phone tyin’ up the line
Well I’m over it, you should know it
You show up at my house when it’s late at night
Beggin’, baby please, won’tcha hold me tight?
You’re just lonely, and you know it
So find a road, and get to goin’
You that I don’t need no more
Just leave me alone
Men like you come ‘round every once in a while
You make it so damn easy to fall
You talk hollow, but I follow
The trail that leads nowhere
Sometimes your touch it feels like gravity
You pull me in when you know I’m feelin’ weak
When I’m burnin’, yeah I’m learnin’ to leave this alone
So find a road, and get to goin’
You that I don’t need no more
Just leave me alone
I ain’t so tough though I have played the part
The truth is, it’s tearin’ up my achin’ heart
You’re a player, a game chaser, and I’m your fool
So find a road, and get to goin’
There’s nothin’ here worth growin’
You that I don’t need no more, yeah I don’t need no more
Just leave me alone
